If you’re reading this, it means you probably already know me because I sent you this link directly/you saw it on Facebook or Twitter. But if I don’t know you in real life, welcome anyway, and I’m quite curious what random Google terms made this pop up.
To recap: I am Rachel, a junior at Elon University, with a major in Journalism (concentration Print/Online) and minors in International Studies (with a Foreign Language concentration), Theater and Creative Writing. Quite a mouthful. For spring 2012 however, I have abandoned the ivy-covered bricks and towering oaks of my campus in North Carolina for the rocky terrain of Haifa, Israel. See the Where the world is Haifa? page for more on this place.
While I’m here, I’ll be taking classes in Hebrew, Literature of the Sho’ah and Media in War and Conflict as well as working as an intern at a nonprofit in the city. I’ll also be traveling throughout Israel quite a bit with the potential for a few sojourns outside of the land of milk and honey.
So read along, kind people, as I have the biggest adventure of my life so far.
